“HOW TO” DO SOMETHING MEANINGFUL

dosomething.org

Powering offline action. Using the power of online to get teens to do good stuff offline.

It is uplifting to find a website dedicated to searching for causes that matter to you, which also gives you a list of many different ways to actively help and participate that fits your lifestyle.

Not only is social media a tool for corporate business purposes, it is also a vehicle to enable individuals to involve themselves in social changes.

It is so simple. It is so easy to use. More importantly it really is easy to be active because they tell you endless ways to do so.

In order to get started you have 4 basic questions to answer:

1. What cause?
2. Who with?
3. Where?
4. How long?

Once you have answered these 4 questions it directs you to a page with a list of suggestions and ideas on "how to" to get started.

dosomething.org created ONE place online where you can learn about about social causes, and ways to participate offline.

It allows individuals to realistically choose how much time they can dedicate to a cause.

For example in the “how long” section, you can choose from: one minute, one day, one semester, one year etc..

As I continued to go through the site I found a page dedicated to a list of celebs that are partaking in social change.

Nick Jonas, Nick Cannon… These are a few celebs who advocate for social change.

Nick Jonas is all for keeping music in schools and Nick Cannon is participating in keeping schools green.

Cannon set up a Youtube video alongside HP.

There are forums on domesomething.org and it also has profiles on Twitter ,Facebook and Youtube.

The staff of dosomething.org also have blogs and talk candidly about what they do.

This site is very friendly and engages individuals to come together, work together and help together.
